What is PPPoE?
PPPoE (Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet) is a specification for connecting multiple computer users on an Ethernet local area network to a remote site through common customer premises equipment, which is the telephone company’s term for a modem and similar devices.
-PPP Can authenticates the remote side prior to data transfer.
-PPP compresses the data to save bandwith.
-Uses Stacker or Predictor for data compression.
Multi-Layer 3 Protocol Support:
-PPP can carry simultaneously multiple layer 3 protocols over the same link.
-PPP can encrypt the data in order to protect it.
-Uses MPPE which uses RC Encryption Algorithm.
Benefits of SingMeng PPPoE:
-No need for a static public address to the user. IP address can be dynamic or static.
-AAA (Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting): Tight RADIUS integration allows for centralized policy and QoS control as well as detailed accounting information on a per subscriber basis.
-Well suited to support individual broadband-attached subscribers
