Digi is announcing its operation merge with SingMeng Telemedia. The planned united operation will be from 1st October, 2018.
These two well-known providers are collaborating to create a leading service provider in the Kingdom of Cambodia that provides a diverse range of premier services across the country including broadband Internet, TV, entertainment, Mobile TV & Movie, voice and smart enterprise solutions.
What Does this Mean for Customers?
As SingMeng acquires Digi this October, the merged operations will provide a wide array of options for the expanded customer base while promoting an all-around improved customer experience – for both providers’ customers.
SingMeng has had years of success in its Triple Play and Smart TV services. Having launched the country’s first 4k Ultra High-Definition (UHD) TV service in 2017 and Mobile TV & Movie in 2018, SingMeng is well-known for its Smart Community Platform on top of its Triple Play services. SingMeng also has notable broadband and Internet service to offer, as well as Movie & TV On the Go and Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone services, boasting more than 6,000 kilometers of fiber optic cable network throughout Cambodia.
Meanwhile, Digi has lead the Cambodian residential Internet market since 2008, and the company brings a strong retail market to SingMeng’s Triple Play services. While using future-focused technology with its Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) technology, Digi currently provides fast Internet service and unlimited bandwidth.
While Digi primarily caters to the residential customers, the merged operations will allow SingMeng’s Triple Play services to be more accessible to thousands of Cambodian households.
Digi brand will be maintained and the transition will be seamless and beneficial for existing customers. Current subscribers will simply notice an improvement in the customer experience, alongside a wider range of services available.
Key Note: Digi subscribers will not have to do anything in relation to this merger – current Internet service, billing, account and payment channels remain unchanged.
An Inside Look
Enthusiasm can be seen from both ISPs in anticipation of this merger.
SingMeng’s Chairman & CEO, Ms. Sarah Xiaohua Wang, says, “The acquisition of Digi will not only bring SingMeng entertainment and Triple Play service to Digi customers, but it will also allow us to offer more options to Cambodians.
SingMeng is committed to invest on innovation and bringing international service standard to the local market.
Unlike other transactions that are premised on excessive cost cuts, this merger is about growth, which will create more opportunities for employees as we will serve more people in more places.
The key to our success has been, and will continue to be, people. With above 95% local staff on board after the merger, SingMeng will continue to develop local competence and leadership as well as to grow local partnership.
We will also expand the social responsibility programs and education programs.
Our goal is to make Cambodia a better place to live.
In similar light, Digi’s CEO, Mr. Andrey Sheen, reflects, “We anticipate to accomplish industry-changing innovations by joining SingMeng. Customers will really enjoy it as this merger will show customers that we truly care about giving them more options, better services and for the best price.”
